The Pilot's Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Edition Woodland is the first IWC watch featuring a case in newly engineered, dark green ceramic. A dark green hue, inspired by the flight suits of and uniforms of TOPGUN pilots, as well as the vast forest landscapes whose airspaces these pilots use as a training area; Woodland is the newest addition to IWCs colored ceramic portfolio, and the Pilots Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Edition Woodland is the first model to feature this color code. Colored ceramics result from a sophisticated manufacturing process in which zirconium oxide is mixed with other metallic oxides. Because the color changes during the sintering process, it takes countless trials and a lot of experience to determine the right blend of raw materials. The monochromatic design is completed by a dark green dial and black hands and printing and luminescent material in a subdued green. The pushers, crown, and case back with an engraving of the TOP GUN logo are made of Ceratanium?. This matte black IWC material is as light and unbreakable as titanium and, at the same time, similarly hard and scratch-resistant as ceramic. Inside the 44-millimetre ceramic case, the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre is at work. The chronograph movement in classic column-wheel design also features a day and date display at 3 oclock. A soft-iron inner case shields the movement from the effects of magnetic fields. This TOP GUN chronograph is fitted on a green rubber strap with textile inlay, whose color has been perfectly matched to the Woodland case.
